Membership

Who is Eligible? 

  • An undergraduate student must have completed 25% of the credit hours required for graduation in an institution that has become a chapter of the Society. Provided the criteria is met, the student may have at least a sophomore (2nd year) or junior (3rd year) standing;

  • The student must be officially declared as a hospitality business major and have completed at least one complete year’s coursework at the institution requesting society membership;

  • The undergraduate student must have obtained a 3.4 GPA or higher!

Induction

Should you choose to join ESD and if you are accepted, we hold an induction ceremony once a year in the Spring for new admits. We typically invite an industry professional to welcome and induct new members into the fraternity!

Benefits of Membership

In addition to the connections facilitated with extremely talented peers, ESD also has an alumni base willing to help graduates in developing their careers. Members are also rewarded during graduation with special pins and a golden chord to signify honors status.

Mission Statement 

The purpose of this organization shall be to recognize hospitality students for outstanding achievement, meritorious service, and demonstrated professionalism. It is the intent that our Hospitality Business Honors Society will lead hospitality educators and professionals to the highest levels of professionalism and achievement!
